As an important appliance that runs continuously in the home, a stable power supply is essential for its normal operation and service life. The overload protection and underload protection functions of the K05UKD refrigerator protector can provide effective protection for the stable operation of the refrigerator.

Overload protection

Cause of overload: When the refrigerator is connected to too many other electrical devices, causing the total power of the circuit to exceed the safe range, an overload phenomenon will occur. For example, connecting a refrigerator to the same socket with a high-power electric heater, microwave oven, etc. at the same time may cause an overload. In addition, the compressor inside the refrigerator runs at high load for a long time. For example, in the hot summer, the refrigerator needs to refrigerate frequently to maintain a low-temperature environment, and the compressor works for a long time, which may also cause an overload.

Working principle:The K05UKD refrigerator protector monitors the current flowing through the refrigerator in real-time through the built-in current monitoring element. When the current exceeds the safety threshold set by the protector, it indicates that the refrigerator is overloaded. At this time, the protector will quickly cut off the circuit, just like installing an “emergency brake” device for the circuit to prevent excessive current from continuing to pass through the refrigerator and avoid excessive heat generated by the refrigerator’s motor, compressor and other key components due to excessive current, thereby preventing these components from being burned. For example, when the refrigerator is overloaded, the relay in the protector will quickly act to disconnect the circuit, stop the refrigerator from running, and avoid further damage.

Importance:Overload is extremely harmful to refrigerators. Excessive current will cause the temperature of the motor winding to rise sharply, accelerate the aging of the insulation material, and shorten the service life of the motor. Severe overload may even directly burn the motor in a short period, causing the refrigerator to be unable to refrigerate, resulting in food spoilage and other losses. The overload protection function of the refrigerator protector can effectively avoid these situations, ensure the normal operation of the refrigerator, and reduce maintenance costs and food loss risks.

Underload protection

Underload reason:Underload is usually caused by too low a power supply voltage. During peak power consumption, especially in old communities or areas with unstable power supply, the grid voltage may drop significantly. When the voltage is lower than the voltage range required for the normal operation of the refrigerator, underload occurs. In addition, problems such as aging of the power supply line and poor contact may also cause excessive voltage loss during transmission, resulting in insufficient voltage obtained by the refrigerator.
Working principle:The voltage monitoring circuit inside the K05UKD refrigerator protector will always monitor the voltage input to the refrigerator. When the voltage is detected to be lower than the set underload voltage value, the protector will immediately cut off the power supply. This is because when the refrigerator is running at low voltage, the startup and operation of the compressor will be affected. To protect the refrigerator, the protector cuts off the circuit to prevent the refrigerator from continuing to operate under bad working conditions. For example, when the voltage is lower than 180V (assuming that the underload voltage value set by the protector is 180V), the protector will act quickly to cut off the power supply of the refrigerator to prevent the compressor from failing to start normally due to insufficient voltage or overheating when running at low speed.
Importance:When the refrigerator is running under load, the compressor is difficult to start and may start frequently. This will not only increase the wear of the compressor but also consume more electricity. Long-term underload operation may also cause the compressor to be damaged due to overheating, seriously affecting the service life of the refrigerator. The underload protection function of the refrigerator protector can detect voltage abnormalities in time and prevent the refrigerator from running under underload, thereby protecting the core components of the refrigerator, extending the overall service life of the refrigerator, and ensuring that the refrigerator is always in good working condition.
